Recovery Assistance for those living with Chronic Mental Illness
NCSS provides ongoing recovery support for adults living with chronic mental health issues, with the goal of maintaining self-sufficiency to live successfully in their community. Our trained staff goes into clients’ homes to train them in life-skills and empower clients to meet their needs and live independently. Services might include coaching a client to complete daily tasks such as: go shopping, cooking, scheduling, and taking medications. No direct hands-on services are provided. The frequency of home visits is determined on the basis of individual client needs. Our services are covered by the mental health waiver provided by Medicaid.
Eligibility Requirements: All participants must first qualify for Medicaid and obtain the Mental Health Waiver. Visit the Advanced Behavioral Health site or call 1-866-548-0265 to learn more and apply.
Additional resources for recovery support can be found on the CT State Department of Mental health and Addiction Services website.
